If your comerzzia installation uses the MySQL database management system and is currently running version 8.0, you will have received a recommendation from your provider to upgrade to version 8.4. This is advisable not only to move to a more up-to-date and improved database engine, but also because MySQL 8.0 will gradually be removed from cloud providers’ catalogues. From the end of this year, providers will therefore begin charging an additional fee for supporting these instances until they are permanently withdrawn.

The comerzzia Product team has identified an incompatibility in the MySQL 8.4 versions currently available. The developer of MySQL introduced several new reserved words, including MANUAL, which had not previously been classified as such. This term is commonly used in certain comerzzia tables and views, but its use in SQL statements is not accepted by the database management system.

This issue has affected a large number of software vendors, and MySQL has therefore decided to reverse the change. It has announced that MANUAL will no longer be a reserved word from version 8.4.11 onwards.

We therefore recommend upgrading to MySQL 8.4 only once version 8.4.11 or later is available from your cloud provider.
