Technical Specifications

IMPORTANT: The resources required are an estimate. They will depend on the number of stores, selected architecture, store type, number of POS per store, volume of data generated (daily tickets and average ticket length) as well as other connected in-store elements such as Self-checkouts (SCO), FASTPOS or Scan&GoApps. In the case of e-commerce, resources will vary according to the number of expected visits. For peaks of online visits, a high-availability environment is recommended, which allows scaling in a very easy way.

 

APPLICATION SERVER REQUIREMENTS BASED ON DEPLOYMENT TYPE

The technical specifications depends on the type of deployment selected.

 

1- BASIC DEPLOYMENT (WITHOUT HIGH AVAILABILITY)

 

comerzzia can be deployed on virtual machines using container technology (docker) or a traditional on-premise or cloud deployment. 

 

 

2-DEPLOYMENT IN HIGH AVALIABILITY AND/OR DISTRIBUTED ENVIRONMENTS

comerzzia uses Kubernetes technology, based on virtual containers, to deploy its microservices. The power of this platform offers agile scalability, high availability and the well-known advantages of a distributed environment. Scalability, automatic or manual, growing or decreasing in resources dedicated to microservices, define the strength of Kubernetes technology. This makes it possible to dynamically adapt the available resources to possible processing peaks caused by changes in the demand of physical or digital stores due to campaigns or specific marketing actions. High availability is possible thanks to the definition of several nodes with the same functionality, which share the work and take over any downtime of the rest in order to maintain the defined service levels.

 

 

*These values are approximate, depending on the deployed capacities of comerzzia and therefore on the number of transactions (food/Non Food), number of stores, number of loyalty members and number of card movements (social money). The number of requests can be totally independent of the number of POS or stores. For example, when coming from online stores from the OMS module, from social money or from coupon or promotion management.

 

 

 

SUPPORTED OPERATING SYSTEMS

comerzzia is compatible with the following operating systems:

Windows: W7, W10 Professional, W10 Posready, Win 10 IoT Enterprise 2015 LTSB, Win 10 IoT Ent 2019 LTSC, W10 Professional (Not compatible with: W10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB).

Linux: Debian9, CentOs7,

NOTE: for installation on any distribution with Linux O.S. it is necessary to verify compatibility with all integrated devices within the store ecosystem. In case of any incompatibility, the customer /partner will be notified in order to have another viable alternative.

 

DATABASE SERVER REQUIREMENTS

Only available in basic deployment mode. Compatible with Oracle, SQL Server, MariaDB and MySQL databases. Soon available for PostgreSQL as well.

It is required that the application server environment and the database environment share the same network to avoid latency issues.

It is recommended that the Pre-Production and Production database be on separate instances.

 
 

NOTE: The table shows recommended starting values. Depending on the type of business, stores and number of POS, it will be necessary to scale the resources as needed, ranging from several GB to TB.
